Context:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Operations Coordinator (Transition and Recovery), the Field Coordination Specialist will provide specialized support to the implementation of IOM Ukraine’s Transition and Recovery Unit. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring efficient and collaborative coordination of the unit’s project locations and movements across the country, namely ensuring a streamlined approach to field visits, project activities, partners and focal points across Ukraine.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a dashboard that visualizes the where, who, what, and when of all project activities across the country.
- Establish and maintain a dashboard that coordinates all staff movements.
- Train staff on operational SOPs, design improvements to SOPs, and ensure effective compliance.
- Coordinate the unit staff’s duty travel trips, monitoring and evaluation site visits, joint assessments, and other programme-related field trips.
- Coordinate the logistics and scheduling of vehicles or other modes of transportation for staff and visitors, as needed.
- Support the Operations Coordinator with planning delegation visits.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with the Project Leads, the Area Coordinators, and the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning staff to ensure that the incumbent is providing coordination methods that are pragmatic and provide tailored solutions for field operations, while building upon existing strengths and processes.
- Contribute operational content and data to information management mechanisms, reporting, publications, and presentation, as relevant.
- Regular duty travel to join assessments, field visits, delegation visits, monitoring, and similar movements.
- Provide specialized surge support for the project teams and operations across the country.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- High School diploma/certificate with seven years of relevant experience;
- OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Management, Public Administration, Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, or related fields from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Strong experienced in coordination, scheduling, planning, and/or logistics;
- Experience working with migrants, IDPs, refugees, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable populations;
- Knowledge of migration, social cohesion, durable solutions, human rights, peacebuilding, and/or veterans’ reintegration topics is advantageous;
- Knowledge of project planning, implementation, assessments, monitoring, evaluation is advantageous;
- Experience of field work; and
- Experience of working in a UN agency or International NGO is an asset.
- Strong organizational, coordination, and planning skills;
- Skilled in forming and maintaining coordinated, collaborative, and pragmatic working relationships across a wide diversity of actors, including staff, partners, stakeholders, and government authorities, among many others;
- Proven written and spoken communication skills;
- Confident user of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, SharePoint, PowerBI, and Excel; demonstrated skills in Excel and PowerBI and/or other dashboard software necessary.
Languages
Fluency in English and Ukrainian is required. Working knowledge of Russian is desirable.
