FOR THE CONSULTANCY CONTRACT OF: MHPSS Social Activities Facilitator
- Duty Station of the Consultancy: Chernivtsi, Ukraine
- Duration of Consultancy: 3 months, with possibility of extension pending on funds availability and satisfactory job performance.

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the National MHPSS Officer and the direct supervision of the MHPSS Team Leader, the candidate will contribute to the implementation of IOM’s Mental Health and Psychosocial Programme activities in the designated region.
- Project Context and Scope:
The ongoing humanitarian situation in Ukraine heightened the country’s mental health and psychosocial support needs and added to the distressing conditions caused by Russia’s war on Ukraine and an underfunded health system. IOM is expanding its work in Ukraine through the development of a community based on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Programme. The programme will follow IOM global MHPSS standards specified in the manual on community-based mental health and psychosocial support in emergencies and displacement through the creation of psychosocial mobile teams providing community based MHPSS services in temporary accomodaion settings and other community spaces, with the aim of enhancing community and family level resilience and ability to cope with the distressing situations caused by the crisis.

- Category A Consultants: Tasks to be performed under this contract
- Organize community based creative and cultural activities for the communities and specific groups within the community such as IDPs in collective centres and shelters.
- Map creative resources and existing creative processes within the community, mobilize them, give them visibility, train them in MHPSS mainstreaming, and help them open their activities to be inclusive of populations in need.
- Promote cultural initiatives, such as social theatre performances, visual arts and music courses, handcraft workshops, language and culture courses, storytelling and poetry contests, sports tournaments and activities, based on identified needs and resources within the community.
- Design a plan for structured creative activities to be offered to various segments of the community, in collaboration with the psychologist and the educator.
- Organize, together with the other PMT members a series of sensitization, information and problem-solving group sessions on identified social problems encountered by the community.
- Develop awareness messages/campaigns related to MHPSS (community-based approaches, sports and cultural practices, creativity and psychosocial well-being), to be disseminated to the affected population and host communities.
- Map socially supportive structures and resources at the community level together with the social worker, mobilize them and envisage, together with the other PMT members and the programme management the best ways to build their capacity further.
- Facilitate MHPSS needs assessments, surveys and research in concerned communities of the project to enhance access to community-based psychosocial and protection services.

Outcome: 40 hours of work per week of MHPSS support provided to beneficiaries.
- Education, Experience and/or skills required
IOM Ukraine is looking for positive, attentive, responsible persons with previous experience in MHPSS work community work and in managing teams.
The Consultant should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social work, Media, Arts or related fields.
- Previous experience in community mobilization, volunteer activities and related areas of intervention is anadvantage.
- Experience in communicating and working with a wide range of people, including people of culturally diverse backgrounds.
