British American Tobacco has a challenging position as a Legal Counsel (Operations) in Prilucky, Ukraine.
Position overview:
- To provide day-to-day legal advice to various departments of Prilucky tobacco factory;
- To ensure the timely delivery of legal services to the Company in relation to its operations matters;
- To contribute to the compliance of the Company to current legislation and internal BAT procedures.
Main responsibilities:
- Revision of agreements (both local and international), being prepared by different departments of BAT, ensuring they are fully compliant with internal contract management procedure and current legislation. Providing legal advice regarding execution of agreements;
- Revision, assisting in preparation and renewal of internal company policies and procedures;
- Assisting line manager in preparation and sole preparation of claims to the counterparties of BAT;
- Assisting HR department in revision of internal orders, job descriptions, requests of military enlistment office etc. Providing different legal consultancy in regards of current labour legislation;
- Assisting line manager in various matters, such as collaboration with external legal advisers in terms of litigation cases (commercial, labour and customs-related cases), collaboration with trade union in terms of disciplinary cases assessment, collective labour agreement execution from legal perspective, as well as in registration of land plot usage rights;
- Ensuring the duly registration of cigarette equipment in State Fiscal Service register in cooperation with engineering department and customs clearance unit of supply chain department;
- Support to corporate lawyers in registration of amendments to corporate documentation;
- Participation in cross-functional issues and projects within LEX department;
- Implementation of electronic document flow system in cooperation with IT department.
*Essential requirements
- University degree in Law (Specialist or Master)
- At least 1 year of experience in: contract law (including deep understanding of civil, commercial and international law), labor law; customs law - will be considered as an advantage;
- Fluent Ukrainian, English – upper-intermediate;
- PC user: Microsoft Office, Legal database;
- Excellent analytical skills;
- Excellent negotiation skills with different levels of stakeholders (both internal and external);
- Team player, result-oriented.
