General Summary

The Training Lead, in support of a US Government-funded project for the US Biological Threat Reduction Program (BTRP), will perform implementation of training plan and all country/regional-level training related activities in Ukraine.

This is a full-time, local-hire position that will report to the Operations and Training Manager based in Black & Veatch (B&V) Kyiv office, and may include the potential to require up to 20% domestic travel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Together with the Operations & Training Manager, Project Manager (PM) and Science Manager provide strategic direction for the BTRP Ukraine Training Program.
• Together with the Operations and Training Manager and Training team participantes in development and integration of the training activities and events in order to achieve BTRP Ukraine Objectives which are defined in the training plan, including but not limited to drafting, revising and maintaining training event plans and training materials developed by Black and Veatch;
• Identifies immediate and future training needs through task analysis, training assessments and consultation with recipients, training Subject Matter Experts (SME) and other stakeholders;
• Estimates costs for training activities and deliver training services within approved budgets; prepares amendments to the budget;
• Responsible for preparation of the schedule of the training events, coordinates the necessary internal and external approvals and logistical support of events; coordinates the procurement, storage and usage of training supplies and consumables;
• Collaborate with trainers and Science Team directly regarding instructional design, training materials and supplies, mentorship programs, educational aids and lessons plans; assists the trainers maintaining a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices;
• Supports in conducting revision of the training event plans, materials and schedules, developed by B&V, including materials on MS Word, Excel, Project, Power Point and B&V’s EIDSS and PACS applications;
• Prepares reports, analyses, plans pertaining to country-level/regional efforts in regards to training in Ukraine; assist in training plan revisions and training curricula development, designed to addresses recipient needs and expectations; actively participates in development of the BTRP Ukraine Training website; updates regularly project electronic filing system and trains others on how to do it when required
• Takes part in the meetings between Black & Veatch, US Government, sub-contractors, site recipient representatives, third party donors and others when required
• Travels in Ukraine for training event implementation

Job Requirements:

• Fluency in English and Ukrainian languages (Ukrainian native a must have) including strong English writing skills.
• Higher education;
• 5+ years' Managerial experience working on planning and implementation of training events, supervision the team of 3+ employees. Trainer experience will be beneficial;

• Proven ability to prioritize tasks, develop and track budgets, and work in a dynamic environment with multiple deliverables a must;
• Strong organization and planning skills, with good attention to detail required;
• Proven negotiation skills; strong diplomatic skills a must; leadership;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Power Point required.
